This musical evening featured selections from the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy, the creator of Studio’s winter production of Octet. Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 is a scandalous, romantic drama that reimagines an excerpt of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace, fusing electropop, Russian folk, and classical music to create its eclectic sonic identity.
Proceeds from the Annual Benefit ensure that Studio Theatre has the resources to produce exceptional contemporary theatre, develop new work with playwrights through Studio R&D, and train the next generation of artists and administrators through the Fellows-in-Residence program.
