New York's hip young theatre company 13P developed
this
fresh and fascinating comedy by one of their
resident playwrights, Anne Washburn. The play follows an American
businessman lost in translation in this mysterious, multilingual romance.
We are looking for more ushers to fill out the
remaining performances of The Internationalist.

Civilians to present this World Premiere of their latest work. This
Beautiful City is a play with music,
created from interviews that explore the Evangelical
movement and Colorado Springs, its unofficial U.S.capital.

DC Hip Hop Theater Festival
Founded in 2000, The Hip-Hop Theater Festival
continues to invigorate the fields of theater and Hip-Hop by: nurturing the
creation of innovative work within the Hip-Hop aesthetic; presenting and
touring American and international artists
whose work addresses the issues relevant to the
Hip-Hop generation; and serving young, urban communities through outreach
and education that celebrates contemporary
language and culture.The Studio Theatre is proud to

Join us Sunday, June 15, at the Capital Pride
Street Festival for a day long celebration of community featuring both
local and national talents. Pop duo Jason & deMarco headline an afternoon of
diverse entertainment.
The Capital Pride Festival is on Pennsylvania
Avenue, NW, between 3rd and 7th streets and The Studio Theatre will be there
in full force.
We need some extra hands to talk to the people, pass
out flyers, balloons and just have fun with our staff.
There will be two four-hour shifts You can click the

The Studio Theatre's 2008-2009 season features work
by Tom Stoppard, August Wilson, Athol Fugard, Conor McPherson, and Doug
Wright. These are the plays that will last - this generation's hits and the
next generation's classics. These are the plays you've heard so much about -
or soon will! These are the plays you've been wanting and waiting to see.

Springer: The Opera is finally coming to America! The hijinks and hilarity
of daytime television meet the epic storytelling of opera. When an ordinary
broadcast ends in violence, this award-winning musical extravaganza follows
talk show host Jerry Springer to the afterlife and beyond. With music by
Richard Thomas and book and lyrics by Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas
Featuring 21 actors and an 8-piece band, Jerry
Springer is the biggest production of The Studio Theatre’s entire season!

Tech Days
The next couple of tech days are just around the
corner
Tech day at The Studio Theatre!

August 30 - for The Road to Mecca
Email volunteer at studiotheatre.org if you interested
in the next tech day.
Tech day starts at 9:45am with morning treats and
work starts at 10am. The day goes as long as you can stand the excitement,
but most people do 9:45am-2pm
It is a really great experience for:
College students looking to expand their resume,
High school students to fulfill community service hours, and for those of us
who just like to have fun, get dirty and play with paint and tools!

We are looking for a few extra hands to help us with
our annual garage sale. We want to purge furniture and props from this
season to make way for our exciting 2008-09 Season!
There are a couple of options for those that would
like to help. We will be working during the day, 10am-6pm, weekdays leading
up to the event. And we start working 8am on Saturday August 2, 2008.

Matt and I discovered something amazing!
For the first time in many-a-season, we may have an
open week and weekend in the summer. We're super excited and are thinking
about throwing a summer party to thank you for such a great season.
We are hard at working thinking up fun ideas for a
weekend get together sometime between July 7 and July 20.
The date is not set yet, nor is what we are going to
do.
If you know of anything you think would be
appropriate, shoot us an email and we'll put it in the pot and see what
turns out.
