Liability Policy

The safety and wellbeing of our students are our top priority. Like sports, acting has physical demands. Students are encouraged to consult their physicians regarding their ability to participate.

Students are expected to carry their own accident and medical insurance. The Studio Theatre assumes no liability for injuries or damages resulting from class participation.

Use of Rehearsal Space

Students can reserve rehearsal space in Studio B, Studio D and Studio E. The sign-up sheets are located on the student bulletin board. In order to reserve space, students must physically sign up for it. The administrative office will not provide information on rehearsal space availability or sign up for any student.

Rehearsal space is available on a space-available, first-come, first-served basis.

If time is reserved directly following a class and the class runs over, that time is deducted from the student’s rehearsal.

Students may sign up for no more than 1 1/2 hour blocks. Students should include their name and phone number when signing up so that they can be reached in case of changes.

Students should be considerate to other students when reserving space. If the reserved space will not be used, students should remove their name from the sign-up sheet so that others may use that time slot.

Students must use the trashcans provided to dispose of all trash, food, cans, water bottles, etc.

Furniture is available in the P Street Lounge for students’ use in class and in rehearsal. Students may not use furniture from the student lounge or from other parts of the Theatre.

All furniture must be returned to the P Street Lounge storage area when not in use. This includes usage for rehearsal as well as for class. Students should allow time at the end of the rehearsal period to return the furniture to the P Street Lounge.

Students must use the shelves provided in the P Street Lounge to store props. Personal props should be labeled for identification. Props found on the floor will be discarded. Props provided by the Conservatory must be returned to the prop shelf after use.

Students must not block the Studio E classroom entrance with furniture.

In compliance with the green initiative of The Studio Theatre, students must turn off all lights when finished using the studios for rehearsal as well as for class.

Students should remember to secure their valuables. The Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory is not responsible for personal property lost or stolen.

The Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory is not responsible for props left at the end of Final Scenes.
